Chai Tea is usually enjoyed as a hot, iced or frappe latte, but it is not very usual to see it in shakes or smoothies. So why not try that for a change?
Today we are going to combine it with fruit to have a delicious, healthy and very satisfying morning smoothie. A rich combination of sweet and spicy (the good kind of spicy) flavors, filled with the antioxidant, digestive and energy boosting properties of the chai tea plus banana, which is a great source of potassium.
This smoothie also fits as a great breakfast or snack in a balanced and healthy diet (it is the right portion to keep yourself energized during the morning) like The Balanced Meal Plan, which is a great program wether you are trying to loose some extra weight or just keep yourself fit and healthy.
- 1 very ripe banana (preferably frozen)
- 3/4 cup Skim Milk
- 1/4 cup Water
- 3 Ice Cubes (6 to 8 if not using frozen banana)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 bags of Chai Tea
- 1 – 2 Organic Stevia drops (or sugar substitute of your choice)
- Steep 2 bags of chai tea in boiling milk, let chill for about 10 minutes.
- Add all ingredients to a blender and liquify (you may need to pulse for ice crush).
- Enjoy while cold!
